Boots are one of five slots of Minecraft armor available to protect the player from damage. Learn how to craft a pair of boots for your character.
Minecraft has five tiers of boot armor:
Crafting Boots
To make boots, you need 4 of desired tier ingredient, either, leather, iron ingot, gold ingot or diamond.
To make a pair of boots, place your ingredients into the crafting table copying the same pattern shown in the image below.
Remove your new boots from the crafting table and place them in the boot armor slot on your character.
Leather Boots
To make Leather Boots place 4 leather 
in the crafting table.
Chainmail Boots
The player cannot craft chainmail boots. Chainmail boots can be purchased from a village armorer. Chainmail armor also has a chance to drop from armored mobs and can be found inside some pocket edition chests.
Iron Boots
Making a pair of Iron Boots requires 4 iron ingots 
in the crafting table.
Gold Boots
Place 4 gold ingots 
on the crafting table to make golden boots.
Diamond Boots
To make Diamond boots use 4 diamonds 
and a crafting table.
Repairing Boots
Boots are repaired with an anvil and additional ingredients of the same type, e.g. leather, iron ingot, gold ingot, diamond. You can also repair a pair of boots by combining two damaged boots of the same armor type in a crafting table.
How to Make Boots in Minecraft
- To make a pair of boots, gather 4 of desired tier ingredient, either:
4 leather,
4 iron ingot,
4 gold ingot, or
4 diamonds. - Place the ingredients in a crafting table in the correct pattern shown below.
